Due to the accident I was in last month my Happy Journey for a Healthy Life was put on hold. I will admit that I got a little lazy during my "off time" but I am back.
Due to the large amount of time I was unable to run and keep a clear exercise schedule my exercises became sporadic, therefore I am starting this journey over. I realize that it's not like really starting over because I have made progress over the past 8 months I have been working on it but as far as getting myself back into the swing of things; well as far as that aspect goes I am starting over.
This time I will only be posting my runs and what I do for cross-training.
Ran 3.6 miles, woot woot!
I have started using the Nike+ app and the coach that the app is equipped with. The program I am currently using is the trainer for 5k Intermediate. I am on my first week and have ran twice for the program (today is one of those times). If you'd like to join me download the Nike+ app and find me :) [Alaina Ellington] I would love to have some
I have been approved to "slow jog" and walk, so #REDFAM is a go. I will definitely not be able to log as many running miles as I had hoped before the accident, but I will still be logging miles and that counts!
Day 1 (August 1st) of #REDFAM and day 23 of A New Health Journey for a Happy Life:
Slow jogged 1 mile, walked 3.5 miles
I can't do any of my other exercises at the moment. My back can't handle the strain and I don't want to do any permanent damage so I am holding off.
Day 2 (August 2nd) of #REDFAM and day 24 of A New Health Journey for a Happy Life:
Slow jogged 3.4 miles, walked .5 miles.
If you haven't joined in on #REDFAM yet this month you can join in anytime. Run Every Day For A Month is a challenge to do just that; run every day for the month of August. If you are starting late you can either run every day for the rest of August, you can wait until September, or you could add the number of days you skipped; it's all up to you!! No matter what get out there and get your body moving!
