I never met Grandpa, in fact he isn't really my Grandpa he is my husband's Grandfather, but still we spend a lot of time on the little piece of land he called home while he was here on Earth. For the past two days (despite the heat) we have spent time on Grandpa's land burning the remains of someone's else's life. Stuff that someone else left behind. In doing so I have found that whomever these items belonged to has, in a round-a-bout way given me a gift. The gift of quality time spent with my husband.
It get's hard finding things to do, there are many boring days where we do nothing but watch TV. At the end of those days I regret all of the time that was wasted. However for the past two days we had a goal, we wanted to get rid of the pile of junk laying at Grandpa's, therefore we had something to do. While burning we also talked, laughed, picked berries, rode the 3-wheeler, shot my husband's new handgun, and spent quality time together and doing so brought joy to my life.
The point of this story is to remind myself that there is joy even in the most monotonous moments of life, joy can be found even in the mundane. If you seek, so shall you find.
As always, Enjoy.
